Surface Treatment Technology - Electrochemical Method

Surface treatment is very diverse for metal injection molding(http://www.zcmim.com/manufactureequipment.shtml) product. Let’s discuss electrochemical method firstly. This method is by using electrode reaction, to form coating on the surface of product. Its main method is:

(1) electroplating

In electrolyte solution, product is anodal. Under external current, product surface form a coating. The coating can be metal, alloy, semiconductor or all kinds of solid particles, such as copper, nickel, etc..

(2) oxidation

In electrolyte solution, product is anodal. Under external current, product surface form an oxide film, which is called anodic oxidation, such as aluminum anodic oxidation.
