The basic process
is choosing suitable metal powder and binder for MIM, and then at a certain
temperature using appropriate method to mix powder and binder to homogeneous
feedstock, inject molding in injection molding machine after granulation,
sintering obtained molding blanks after debinding.
MIM process
includes eight important steps: product design, mold design, quality control,
mixing, injection, degreasing, sintering, secondary processing. Binder → mixing → injection molding → degreasing → sintered powder
Main process of
MIM technology. MIM combines the advantages of powder metallurgy and plastic
injection molding, breaks the limits on product shape for traditional metal
powder press molding process. Using characteristics of metal powder metallurgy
technology, MIM can be sintered compact mechanical parts with good mechanical
properties and surface quality. At the same time, the use of plastic injection
molding technology can producing complex shape parts in high-volume and
high-efficient. Its application is advanced
than conventional powder metallurgy, precision casting and other
processes.
